Anime Club and Nintendo Night this week!
Tomorrow is Anime Club at Sellers Library, and we'll be watching the very entertaining and very weird Assassination Classroom! It's at 3:30 and open to all teens in grades 6-12, so stop on by!

Retro Game Day @ Municipal!
Last Tuesday we had 12 teens show up and play some old, old, (very old) video games! I brought in a bunch of stuff from my personal collection, including an Atari 7800, an NES, SNES and N64 with a selection of about 10 games each. I think one of the biggest hits of the event would have to be Duck Hunt on the NES! Something about how easy that game is to pick up and play, and how immediate the game play is, make it really attractive to anybody I think. Just pick up the Zapper, aim and shoot! Next up would probably be Contra (with the 30 guy code of course!).
Two hours went by really quickly! It was so great to see so many teens try out these gaming consoles from before they were even born, and even better, having a good time with their friends! Oh, and below I have some pictures from the event, but in keeping with the spirit of retro gaming, I took all the photos on my Game Boy Camera, which was a device you plugged in to the original black and white Game Boy!

Getting ready for Mario Night @ Sellers library!
Mario Night is next Friday, May 16! In the interest of switching it up a bit, the prizes will be a little bit different than what's usually on offer for the winners of the Mario Kart tournament. While all three winners will get candy prizes, there will be a large Mario poster, a Mario t-shirt, and a Mario cartoon collection DVD. First place winner will get first pick, second place can pick from the remaining two, and third place gets the one that's left!
In addition to the Mario Kart Wii tournament, we'll have the Wii U hooked up with Super Mario 3D World, as well as older Nintendo systems playing classic Mario titles. Signups are still open! I hope to see you all there!

Gaming Club levels up with Wii U!
I'm excited to announce that Sellers Library now has a Wii U! Starting with today's gaming club, we'll have the Wii U hooked up to our big screen projector. Right now we have a copy of the multiplayer title Nintendo Land, which has minigames for up to 5 players. We'll of course be adding games like Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros to our lineup when they come out. If you're signed up for gaming club at Sellers, come in and try out the new system today!
