OPINION: I have seen sketches about the Spanish Inquisition by Mel Brooks and Monty Python, which are just silly. I have read about the Spanish Inquisition in history books, which was rather dull. Incancation is altogether different than either of those! Estrella and Catalina are best friends, driven apart by Estrella's dual secrets: her Jewish heritage and love for Catalina's cousin. As Catalina begins to suspect these two truths, she exposes Estrella's entire family out of revenge and spite. In taking a narrow view of the events--one family, one village--it allows the author to evoke the emotions, events, and experiences of that time in history. This is a short novel, easily read in one sitting, but not easily forgotten.

i read this book within a school week, wounderful i would say! im using it for a project bout wat we like to read and this is it! Historical Fiction :), im spanish myself and to hear of the hardships these ppl had to go through was tuogh, i cryed at sum parts but still i say for any1 to read this book
I was assigned a book report and my teacher recommended this book, at first, I hated historical fiction and I dreaded reading it, but then, as I got deeper into the story, It became more interesting. I even started to tear up a little in it, and my heart pounded. Great book and I LOVED it! Also a plus, only about 160 pages with a large font :) It was definatly "my cup of tea."
Good book. Shows what "real life" is all about.
This book is one of the best books I have ever read, I couldnt stop reading it an it was so good,i cried lol I rate this book a 10. If you like a good story with a twist,i defanately recommend this.:))) I hella love this book:))
